The web feature is set by default whenever whoami is added without default-features = false somewhere in the dependency tree.

web default = web-sys

Enabling this feature indicates that the wasm32-unknown-unknown target should be assumed to be in a web environment where it can call DOM APIs.

Features from optional dependencies

In crates that don't use the dep: syntax, optional dependencies automatically become Cargo features. These features may have been created by mistake, and this functionality may be removed in the future.
